Tissue Coagulation and Skin Resurfacing
Treats:
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Fine and deep wrinkels
- Large pores
- Melasma
This
is the next generation of fractional laser technology.
As we grow older, so too does our skin. Lines
and wrinkles, sun spots, pigmented lesions, vascular
lesions and rosecea are all a result of aging,
gravity, and exposure to the sun.
Heredity, acne, and smoking also contribute to
the negative affects on the health and appearance
of our skin. Until recently, the ability to reverse
the signs of aging was limited to old skin care
remedies and out dated technology. After years
of research by world renowned experts, the Fractional
laser has been recently introduced. With high
efficacy and no down time, this soft tissue coagulation
and non-ablative resurfacing technology can take
years off your appearance. After a series of treatments
the skin becomes softer, smoother and fresher.
Fine lines, sun spots, acne scars and melasma
have now become treatable conditions.
How does it work?
- The fractional laser delivers light in an
array of high precision microbeams.
- These microbeams create narrow, deep columns
of tissue coagulation that penetrate the epidermis
and into the dermis, of the skin while sparing
tissue surrounding the columns from damage.
- The coagulated tissue within the columns initiate
a natural healing process to form new, healthy
tissue.
- Coagulated cellular debris is expelled as
the skin is resurfaced.
Speed and convenience
- The Fractional Laser does not require topical
anesthesia, dye application, or an elaborate
cooling process.
Safety and comfort
- The Fractional Laser delivers microbeams one
short pulse at a time with active contact cooling.
- Treatments are significantly more comfortable
than systems that deliver beams over longer
periods of time.
Preparation for Fractional Laser treatments
- Stop the use of any retinoids, glycolics,
alph/beta hydroxyl acids, or any type of exfoliant
2 weeks prior to your scheduled treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure 4 weeks prior to treatment.
We recommend a daily SPF 15 and if you must
be exposed to the sun, be sure to use an SPF
of at least 30, reapply each hour, and wear
a hat. Sun exposure to the treatment area can
cause unwanted pigment that can reverse/delay
results.
- You must be post Accutane for at least one
year.
- This treatment is not recommended for pregnant
or nursing mothers.
What to expect after treatment
- Your skin will be red for a few days and you
may experience swelling that should subside
within a day or two.
- There will be light peeling after a few days.
What are the possible side effects of
this treatment?
- Swelling, blistering, crusting or flaking
of the treated areas, may require one to three
weeks to heal.
- A rare possibility of skin infection.
- There is a slight possibility that the treated
area can become either hypo-pigmented (lighter),
or hyper-pigmented (darker). This is usually
temporary, but on a rare occasion, it may be
permanent.
- Scarring is a rare occurrence, but it is a
possibility if the skin’s surface is disrupted.
You should not have this treatment if
you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a seizure disorder
- Have a history of slow or abnormal healing
(keloid formation)
- Have a history of diabetes (due to poor circulation
and abnormal healing)
- Use medication that increases photosensitivity
How many treatments will I need?
- The number of treatments vary with the severity
of pigmented lesions, scarring, or melasma.
- On average it is recommended to have 3-5 treatments.
